“Woman Found Dead in Montreal Apartment, Homicide Suspected”

Montreal authorities have revealed that a woman discovered deceased in a Saint-Michel apartment on Saturday was a victim of homicide. Responding to a welfare check call at approximately 1:45 p.m., police encountered an unresponsive woman and a 51-year-old man with stab wounds on his upper body at the residence. While the woman was pronounced dead at the location, the injured man was rushed to the hospital and is currently in critical condition. Investigations indicate that the woman had also sustained stab wounds, although the full extent of her injuries is yet to be determined. By Sunday morning, authorities confirmed the woman’s death as a homicide. Johany Charland, a spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM), revealed that the man is now considered a suspect in the ongoing probe. Charland stated that efforts are underway to identify the victim and establish the relationship between the individuals involved. This incident marks the fifteenth homicide in Montreal for the year.
