Firefighters are currently engaged in combatting a significant fire at a commercial establishment situated in downtown Toronto on Sunday morning, according to Toronto Fire officials. Responding to reports of smoke emanating from the Zanzibar Tavern, an adult entertainment venue in close proximity to Yonge Street and Elm Street, fire crews arrived at the scene around 6 a.m., as per information provided to CBC News by Toronto Fire. Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed the presence of dense black smoke and a fire at roof level within the building, leading to the escalation of the incident to a three-alarm fire. Fortunately, the building was unoccupied at the time, and there have been no reports of any injuries. Firefighters who were inside the building have been safely evacuated, with firefighting efforts now being conducted from the exterior due to the compromised condition of the roof, as indicated by Toronto Fire.
