“Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Cleared to Play After Recovery”

Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been cleared to play after coming off the seven-day injured list. He is set to join the team for their game against the New York Yankees. Guerrero sustained an injury during a recent game against the Yankees when he collided with George Lombard Jr., a rookie shortstop, during a play at third base in the sixth inning. Despite the impact that dislodged his helmet, Guerrero managed to score a run before leaving the game.

After successfully passing his concussion tests, Guerrero returned to the team on Friday. He participated in a minor league rehab game for single-A Dunedin the day before and also took batting practice. Following his return, Guerrero was placed second in the batting order for Saturday’s game, as the Blue Jays look to bounce back from their 3-1 loss to the Yankees in the series opener. As part of the roster adjustment, the Jays sent infielder/outfielder Davis Schneider down to triple-A Buffalo.

Guerrero currently boasts a .263 batting average with seven home runs and 46 RBIs. Before his injury, he was on a hot streak, hitting .310 in his last seven games.
