“Traffic Update: One Lane Open on Trans-Canada Highway”

Police have initiated a traffic control measure allowing vehicles to move through one lane on a segment of the Trans-Canada Highway on the west coast of Newfoundland following an earlier collision that had closed both lanes. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police announced at approximately 4:15 p.m. that traffic flow might be periodically halted throughout the evening until the ongoing work at the site is finished. Motorists are advised to anticipate possible delays and to reduce speed when approaching the affected area, located roughly six kilometers west of the Flat Bay Junction near the Flat Bay community and Route 403 in the Bay St. George region. Authorities have indicated that there is no alternative route available, urging drivers to stay attentive and comply with instructions from traffic personnel. The RCMP will release further updates as they become available.
