Montreal authorities reported a serious injury resulting from a police shooting that occurred during a wellness check on Wednesday afternoon. The incident took place at an apartment on 14th Avenue near Émile-Journault Street in the Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension area. Police were conducting the check to ensure the well-being and safety of the individuals inside.
During the check, law enforcement officers fired their weapons, causing serious harm to an individual. Details surrounding the shooting and the individual involved were not extensively disclosed by the Montreal Police Service. Additionally, one officer sustained minor injuries, potentially caused by a sharp object.
