RCMP officials in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, have pressed charges against an individual for three firearm-related offenses following reports from residents of gunshots heard during the weekend. In a statement released on Thursday, the RCMP stated that on August 9, at approximately 8:30 a.m., law enforcement responded to reports of gunshots and observed a man carrying a firearm inside a residence on 68th Street. Subsequently, the RCMP officers took the man into custody later that morning. The charges against the individual include reckless discharge of a firearm, improper storage of a loaded firearm, and negligent use of a firearm. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on August 17.
