Investigation Launched into Fatal Incident at Delaware Nation

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have initiated an investigation into a fatality at Eelūnaapēewi Lahkēewiit, also referred to as the Delaware Nation at Moraviantown, situated northeast of Chatham-Kent. Middlesex County OPP were alerted shortly before midnight on July 25 regarding an individual who had been transported to the hospital with severe injuries, as stated in a press release by OPP on Thursday. Regrettably, the individual succumbed to their injuries. Authorities suspect that a 33-year-old resident of Chatham sustained injuries during an incident on River Line within Eelūnaapēewi Lahkēewiit. The circumstances surrounding the fatal injuries are currently being investigated by law enforcement. Persons with any pertinent information are encouraged to come forward. Additionally, residents, establishments, and individuals present in the vicinity of River Line on the evening of Saturday, July 25, are urged to review any surveillance or dashcam recordings and reach out to the police if they possess information that could aid the inquiry.
