“Canada’s Male Flag Football Team Qualifies for 2028 Olympics”

Canada’s male flag football team will be part of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles alongside the female team. The Canadian team secured their spot by defeating Mexico 34-26 in the bronze-medal match of the International Federation of American Football (IFAF) world championship held in Düsseldorf, Germany on Saturday.

The top two teams from both the men’s and women’s world championships were expected to qualify for the 2028 Olympics, where flag football will be introduced as an Olympic sport. However, as the United States was already guaranteed a spot as the host nation and had reached the men’s final, the top three teams in the men’s tournament earned Olympic qualifications.

The Canadian women’s team is set to compete against the U.S. in the world championship final later today. This development marks an exciting milestone for Canadian flag football as it gears up for its debut on the Olympic stage in 2028.
