Police in the Lewisporte region have reported that a 58-year-old man passed away in a motorcycle accident on Sunday evening. The RCMP arrived at the scene around 6 p.m. that day on Route 340, near the intersection with Route 345 in the vicinity of Virgin Arm-Carter’s Cove, approximately 25 kilometers from Twillingate. The motorcycle rider was transported to Twillingate hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. A passenger on the motorcycle was also taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. Authorities are actively investigating the incident and have involved the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
