“Red Hill Valley Parkway Set for 3-Day Closure in September”

The Red Hill Valley Parkway is scheduled for a three-day closure in September to undergo rehabilitation and maintenance work. The closure is planned to commence on September 17 at 10 p.m. and conclude on September 21 at 5 a.m. Both directions of the RHVP, from Mud Street to Barton Street, will be affected by the closure.

The city aims to enhance the safety and overall conditions of the parkway through the rehabilitation work, with the goal of minimizing disruptions to motorists by avoiding frequent closures. The project will focus on improving the roadway between the King Street and Greenhill Avenue interchanges, along with conducting general infrastructure maintenance along the parkway.

Key aspects of the rehabilitation work include the removal of sections of the current road surface, adjusting the roadway slope with new asphalt layers, and laying down a fresh asphalt surface. Additionally, upgrades to guiderails and modifications to the overhead sign support structure are included in the project.

During the construction period, HSR buses will follow detour routes as advised by the city to accommodate the closure and ongoing work.
