A mail boat team in the United States successfully rescued two individuals whose jet ski was sinking beneath the Ambassador Bridge on Friday evening. The J.W. Westcott Company deployed their U.S. Mail boat M.S. Westcott to provide aid while the Macassa Bay tour boat from Windsor also attempted to assist the distressed jet ski riders.
The M.S. Westcott, known for its maneuverability, approached the scene, enabling the crew to swiftly retrieve the two men from the Detroit River. Additionally, they towed the sinking jet ski to the Westcott Dock for further assessment and assistance. According to the company, the rescued men explained that they were carried downstream when the jet ski they had rented started taking on water near Detroit’s Ralph C. Wilson Centennial Park.
Fortunately, no injuries were sustained during the incident. The J.W. Westcott Company, a Detroit-based marine delivery service specializing in mail and supplies transportation along the Detroit River, played a crucial role in the successful rescue operation.
