“Google Pixel Users Report Battery Drain Bug”

Some Android users are facing a concerning issue where their phone batteries are rapidly draining even when the devices are not in use. This problem seems to have emerged following a recent software update. Numerous Android users have taken to online forums to express their frustration, noting that they now need to charge their phones multiple times a day to maintain battery life.

The battery drain bug appears to be affecting Google’s Pixel phone series, with the tech company acknowledging the issue and working on a solution. Impacted devices include the Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 7A.

According to insights from 9to5Google, the problem is linked to excessive CPU wakeups, causing the phone to remain active in the background even when not in use. Users like Phil and Fz have reported significant battery drainage issues on their Pixel devices since mid-March, with batteries depleting rapidly and phones struggling to hold a charge.

However, not all Pixel users are experiencing these battery problems. Some, like Warren, have noted normal battery performance with no noticeable drain. Google is actively investigating the issue and is expected to release a fix soon. Updates on this matter will be provided once available.
