“Bulgaria’s Varna: Europe’s Best Value Beach Destination”

A seaside destination in Europe known for its affordable prices, sandy beaches, and ancient Roman baths is looking to attract more visitors.

While cities like Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, and Venice remain popular tourist spots, some lesser-known destinations are actively promoting tourism with budget-friendly deals and incentives to draw holidaymakers.

Varna, the third-largest city in Bulgaria located on the Black Sea coast, is one such area striving to lure more tourists. Dubbed as offering the best value beach in Europe, Varna’s Sunny Beach resort is consistently ranked as one of the most economical holiday destinations on the continent.

Bulgaria’s tourism board is leveraging this reputation by providing affordable accommodations, food, and beverages. For instance, a pint of beer could cost just £2.50, and hotel rates can start from as low as £24 per night.

The main attraction of Varna lies in its expansive golden sandy beaches and crystal-clear blue waters, where visitors can relax under the Bulgarian sun or enjoy the vibrant beachfront ambiance with numerous bars and eateries. Golden Sands, one of the renowned beaches in the vicinity, spans 3.5km and is adjacent to the Sea Garden park, another highlight of the area.

Apart from the stunning beaches and lush gardens, Varna offers a rich tapestry of experiences in the port city. Travelers can explore vibrant streets adorned with colorful architecture, unique coffee shops, quaint restaurants, and delve into ancient history.

Moreover, visitors can stroll through the Sea Garden, visit the Archaeological Museum, marvel at the Dormition of the Mother of God Cathedral, or explore the Aladzha Monastery, a notable medieval cave monastery. Notably, the Roman Thermae Varna, ancient thermal baths dating back to the 2nd century AD, stand out as one of the largest ancient structures discovered in Bulgaria.

Travelers have praised Varna for its attractions and ambiance. One reviewer on TripAdvisor described it as a great place to visit, highlighting the city’s mix of urban and beachfront attractions. Another reviewer noted the lively atmosphere during the summer months, when the city comes alive with bustling clubs and restaurants.

Flights from London to Varna are available starting from £24, with summer flight prices beginning around £45. Travel enthusiasts are encouraged to share their travel stories by emailing webtravel@reachplc.com.
