A teaser trailer for the documentary “You Can See Everything” may leave viewers feeling uneasy, as it delves into the final days before Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of Theranos, was sentenced to 11 years in prison for defrauding investors. Canadian filmmaker Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim captured this period, showcasing Holmes’ unwavering stance amidst skepticism from the film crew, who probed her with tough questions.
The film offers an intimate look at Holmes, transitioning into a complex exploration over three years, as described by production company A24. The trailer also hints at Holmes’ relationship with her husband, Billy Evans, revealing their meeting during Theranos’ downfall in 2017.
Holmes gained fame in 2014 as the youngest self-made female billionaire in the U.S. for her purported revolutionary blood-testing technology. However, legal troubles arose the following year, leading to criminal charges. In the documentary, Fielder, renowned for “Nathan for You,” questions Evans about his connection to Holmes, prompting discussions on trust and wealth.
Despite the legal turmoil, Holmes and Evans welcomed their first child in August 2021, with another child on the way. The documentary, set for release on October 16, promises a captivating exploration of Holmes’ life and the events preceding her prison sentence.
