Japan’s Miyu Yamashita emerged victorious at the CPKC Women’s Open in a commanding fashion, leading from start to finish. The 25-year-old secured her fourth LPGA Tour win and her second of the year after a stellar performance at the Royal Mayfair Club in Edmonton. Yamashita finished the tournament with a remarkable 23-under-par score, courtesy of a final round 4-under 66.
Maintaining a six-stroke lead after three rounds, Yamashita clinched the title with a comfortable nine-stroke advantage over her compatriot, Yuri Yoshida, who finished at 14 under par. Anna Huang from Vancouver delivered a strong finish with a 5-under 65, concluding the event tied for fourth place at 12 under par, leading the Canadian contingent. Calgary’s amateur golfer, Aphrodite Deng, closed with a 69, ending the tournament at 11 under par.
Meanwhile, Brooke Henderson, a two-time winner from Smiths Falls, Ontario, carded an even-par 70 in the final round, finishing at 7 under par. The upcoming LPGA tournament, the FM Championship at TPC Boston in Norton, Massachusetts, is set to kick off this Thursday.
