John Alford, known for his roles in popular TV shows like Grange Hill and London’s Burning, has been sentenced to eight and a half years in prison. Alford, using his real name John Shannon during the trial, was convicted in September for sexually assaulting two teenage girls at a party in April 2022.
Despite denying the allegations during the trial, Alford, 54, was found guilty and showed visible distress upon hearing the verdict. Investigator Laura Harrison commended the courage of the victims for reporting the crimes, emphasizing the lack of remorse displayed by Alford throughout the legal proceedings.

In addition, he has been given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, a Restraining Order, and will be placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
