“Shang-Chi Star Simu Liu Marries Music Exec in France”

Canadian actor Simu Liu, known for his role in Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” has recently gotten married to music industry executive Allison Hsu. The marriage was confirmed by Liu’s publicist to CBC News on Tuesday, following celebrations in France as reported by TMZ.

The couple made their engagement public through social media during a trip to Paris in May 2025, after officially dating since late 2022. They have been sharing updates about their relationship on social platforms, with Hsu posting images from wedding-related events in Mexico and a visit to Paris with Liu.

In an interview with People magazine in 2023, Liu expressed his feelings about the relationship, highlighting the support and care they provide each other. Liu, who was born in China and raised in Toronto, is set to reprise his role as Shang-Chi in the upcoming Marvel film “Avengers: Doomsday.”

His portrayal of Shang-Chi has propelled Liu to international fame, following his success in the CBC comedy “Kim’s Convenience” where he played Jung Kim. Liu has also been involved in various projects recently, including a role in the film “Barbie,” voice acting in “In Your Dreams,” and starring in the spy thriller series “The Copenhagen Test.” Additionally, he made his Broadway debut in the Tony-winning comedy “Oh, Mary!” earlier this year.
