“Niagara Braces for Heavy Rainfall Warning”

Environment Canada has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in Niagara on Wednesday morning. The agency anticipates approximately 50 mm of rain in the area. According to Environment Canada, a line of intense showers and thunderstorms is projected to move eastward across the region throughout the morning. Residents are cautioned about potential property damage and water accumulation in low-lying areas. Drivers are advised against traversing flooded roads and to remain vigilant for washouts near rivers, creeks, and culverts. The rainfall is forecasted to cease by late Wednesday morning.

This alert follows the aftermath of severe floods that impacted numerous residents in the region due to unusual weather events in late July and early August. The consecutive thunderstorms caused extensive flooding, affecting homes, businesses, and agricultural lands, resulting in various damages such as the loss of cherished belongings and vehicles.
