London authorities have pressed charges against a local massage therapist for sexual assault, expressing concerns that there could be more unidentified victims. Reports were initially filed on July 30 by a victim alleging sexual assault during a treatment session the day before. Following an inquiry, police apprehended Christian Javier Gutierrez, aged 47, on the same day. Subsequently, two additional reports were received, leading to three more counts of sexual assault being brought against Gutierrez.
Gutierrez surrendered to the authorities on Monday, attended a London court hearing on Wednesday, and was granted release pending a future court appearance in August related to the accusations. The therapist manages a massage practice in the city center, with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario duly informed. Investigators suspect there could be further unreported victims and urge anyone with relevant information or who may have encountered the accused under similar circumstances to contact the London police.
