Sky customers in the UK are in for a treat as HBO Max has officially launched, offering a plethora of popular titles like Game of Thrones, Friends, Dune, Succession, and Young Sheldon at no extra cost to those with a Sky Ultimate TV package. This move allows customers to save over £50, adding to the existing perks of bundled Disney+ and other streaming services.
Sky has confirmed that Sky Stream, Sky Glass, and Sky Q customers with the appropriate package will now have access to HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription. This service, long available in the USA, boasts a vast collection of HBO dramas and Warner Bros. films, along with new Max Originals like The Pitt.
For those interested in exploring HBO Max, the process is straightforward. Simply launch the HBO Max app from the homepage and follow the on-screen instructions to activate the service, enabling on-demand streaming of a wide range of content.
Customers not on the Sky Ultimate TV plan can switch to it for as low as £22 per month (rising to £24 from April 1st), which includes over 130 Sky channels, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and the upcoming Hayu service.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, expressed enthusiasm about this development, touting the integration of Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu under a single subscription. Even NOW Entertainment customers will receive HBO Max without any additional charges, seamlessly integrated into the NOW app.
For non-Sky subscribers, signing up for HBO Max directly on its website is an option, with Standard with Ads plans starting at £5.99. This move is part of Sky’s strategy to consolidate entertainment offerings and provide a comprehensive viewing experience for its customers.
