“Fraud Tip Line Launched in LHSC Probe”

London authorities, including the London Police Service (LPS) and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), have introduced a dedicated tip line to gather information crucial to an ongoing fraud inquiry at London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC). The LPS initiated the investigation in October 2024 following suspicions of fraudulent financial dealings at the medical facility. Due to the intricate nature of the case, the OPP’s Serious Fraud Office has joined forces to aid in the investigation.

Detective Superintendent Sean Travis of the LPS criminal investigations division emphasized the unwavering commitment to the case and highlighted the importance of collaboration with the OPP and the Serious Fraud Office. Travis stressed the significance of shared expertise and cooperation in advancing the complex investigation, urging individuals with any relevant information to step forward as even the smallest detail could be pivotal to the investigators.

In a related development, it was revealed by CBC News that LHSC had initiated legal action against five former executives, a contractor, and multiple companies involved in hospital projects, seeking over $60 million in damages. The lawsuits allege that some executives were complicit in the fraudulent activities, with one claim linking more than 60 properties valued at nearly $20 million to three individuals allegedly implicated in the scheme. These properties were reportedly acquired subsequent to the awarding of substantial contracts by the hospital.

Individuals possessing information pertinent to the ongoing probe are urged to contact the dedicated tip line at 1-844-677-9413, the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Alternatively, information can be anonymously submitted online to London Middlesex Crime Stoppers.
