A tragic incident occurred on Friday near Montebello as a driver lost their life when their vehicle collided with a hydro pole along route 148, as reported by the Sûreté du Québec. The crash happened while the vehicle was traveling eastbound, resulting in the driver being pronounced dead at the hospital. Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the deceased individual. Due to the accident, the section of the highway between côte du Front and chemin du Traversier, which serves as the Quebec terminal for the ferry route connecting Fassett, Que., and Lefaivre, Ont., has been temporarily closed.
