Dollyfest, a music festival celebrating the life of Dolly Parton, is scheduled for 2027 without the iconic singer herself. Originally planned to coincide with Parton’s 80th birthday, the festival was postponed last year due to health concerns. However, Parton’s estate has confirmed that the star-studded event will take place in Nashville and London over two consecutive weekends next year.
Following Parton’s recent passing at age 80, leaving behind grieving fans, the festival aims to embody the vibrant spirit she exuded. The festival details, including specific dates and musical lineup, are yet to be disclosed.
Organizer Danny Nozell expressed a commitment to realizing Parton’s vision with Dollyfest, providing a platform for artists and fans worldwide to participate in the celebration while allowing time for mourning and preparation.
Noteworthy memorials honoring Parton have emerged since her death, including tributes from various sectors recognizing her contributions, such as the innovative Imagination Library initiative. Dollywood, the theme park she transformed into a renowned attraction, announced plans to introduce commemorative additions to honor her legacy. Visitors in 2027 will have the opportunity to share personal memories and reflections on Parton’s influence through interactive kiosks at the park.
Other enhancements at Dollywood, curated with Parton’s input before her passing, include a new park feature inspired by the Imagination Library and a waterfall near the Robert F. Thomas Chapel. Additionally, a city-wide project titled “In Dolly’s Footsteps” is set to launch in Sevierville, Tennessee, featuring walking-tour markers highlighting key venues in Parton’s life story.
The memorial wall outside Dollywood, adorned with flowers and tributes, will remain intact for an unspecified period to allow visitors to pay their respects in a meaningful manner.
The forthcoming Dollyfest and the various tributes and enhancements serve as lasting reminders of Dolly Parton’s enduring influence on music, philanthropy, and entertainment.
