Coleen Nolan Opens Up About First Divorce

Coleen Nolan, a well-known TV personality, recently shared insights into her first divorce, explaining why she prolonged the marriage longer than necessary.

The 60-year-old panelist of Loose Women has experienced two divorces, the most recent one being from musician Ray Fensome in 2018. However, her most notable relationship was with Shane Richie, an actor from EastEnders.

Coleen and Shane tied the knot in 1990 but separated in 1997, finalizing their divorce two years later due to allegations of infidelity.

During a candid conversation with her eldest son Shane, 37, on her YouTube channel, Coleen confessed that she felt she stayed in the marriage longer than she should have, primarily due to concerns about her children growing up in a broken home.

She revealed that her decision to seek therapy eventually led her to the realization that staying in a toxic relationship would set a harmful example for her sons on how to treat their future partners.

In addition to Shane, Coleen shares another son, Jack Roche, 33, with her first husband.

After her first divorce, Coleen remarried Ray Fensome in 2007, but the marriage ended in divorce 11 years later. They welcomed their daughter, Ciara Fensome, in 2001.

Coleen emphasized that despite the challenges, ending her first marriage positively impacted her children as they maintained good relationships with both parents.

Her son Shane acknowledged the effort Coleen put into creating a healthy co-parenting dynamic, noting that she avoided using them as pawns in the divorce process.

Coleen affirmed her stance, expressing her refusal to involve her children in any potential animosity following her observations of friends going through similar situations.

Recently, Coleen discussed her upcoming one-woman show, This Is Me, where she will narrate her life story, showcasing her honesty and vulnerability through her experiences.

She shared with Woman’s Weekly, “People have asked me whether my honesty and openness has ever left me feeling vulnerable. I can only answer that I can sleep better knowing I’ve been honest.”
