Burn 24/7 Canada, founded by Sean Feucht, filed a lawsuit in Moncton court, alleging that the city’s revocation of permits for a public park performance infringed on their freedom of expression rights.
The organization claims that the cancellation violated rights outlined in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Feucht, known for his controversial views on various topics, leads events promoting Christian worship and the Gospel message. The city cited concerns over compliance with its Code of Conduct and security issues, leading to the permit revocation two days before the scheduled show.
Feucht relocated the event to a different location, incurring additional costs for logistics. The organization, seeking $50,000 in damages, emphasized that they complied with all city requirements and had security measures in place.
