Bradley Walsh Reveals Surprising Truth About “The Chase” Viewing

Bradley Walsh has shared a surprising revelation regarding The Chase, the popular quiz show he has been hosting since its inception in 2009. Known for appearing alongside his son Barney on various TV programs, both together and individually, the presenter admitted to Radio Times magazine that he has not watched his own show for quite some time.

Explaining the situation, Bradley mentioned that due to his late studio hours, he typically wraps up work at five o’clock, making it challenging to catch up on The Chase. However, he did reveal his avid viewership of BBC’s Casualty, especially to watch Barney, who has been portraying Cameron Mickelthwaite since 2023.

Barney also chimed in, mentioning their tight filming schedule, making it a rarity for him to be home in time to watch The Chase live. Still, whenever he finds some free time and the show is on, he makes sure to tune in, expressing his love for the program.

The father-son duo initially teamed up on screen in 2019 for the ITV travel series “Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad,” which has since seen the success of five additional series, with the latest one airing in 2025.

Reflecting on their collaboration, Barney shared that over the years, they have engaged in about 80 to 100 different activities, creating lasting memories. While discussing the possibility of another series, Barney mentioned their current busy schedules but expressed interest in doing more projects together in the future.

Despite their other commitments, Bradley assured fans that he has no plans to step away from The Chase or its spin-off, Beat The Chasers, as long as the audience continues to enjoy the show. In the upcoming series of Gladiators, viewers can anticipate the return of the father-son duo in the arena.

Gladiators will make its comeback on BBC One and iPlayer on January 17 at 5:45 pm, while The Chase will continue its weekday broadcasts at 5 pm on ITV and ITVX.
