Fans of the Heeler family will soon have the chance to experience a Bluey-themed rollercoaster at Alton Towers, offering a glimpse of the excitement awaiting devotees of the popular show.
The beloved cartoon dog family, cherished by youngsters and secretly admired by parents, is a prominent feature of CBeebies Land, boasting a live stage performance and a sought-after meet-and-greet opportunity. The upcoming rollercoaster will mark the world’s first ride inspired by Bluey, placing the show in the company of CBeebies favorites like Peter Rabbit and Hey Duggee.
Named Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies!, the rollercoaster features Bluey and Bingo in their granny costumes, with Janet and Rita – the grannies – leading the way in their car followed by several rollercoaster cars.
The ride’s title pays homage to a season one episode called Grannies, where Bingo and Bluey play mischievous old ladies, causing havoc in the house, learning to floss, and even crashing their car. Their “Here come the grannies!” exclamation kicks off the game, setting the stage for their parents to join in the fun.
Natasha Spence, Events Director of Live Entertainment at BBC Studios, expressed enthusiasm, stating that the Grannies’ appearances are a fan-favorite moment for Bluey enthusiasts. The introduction of these beloved characters into Bluey’s inaugural coaster at Alton Towers Resort, home to CBeebies Land, is eagerly anticipated.
The live stage show will continue at the Big Fun Showtime area, where children can have their photo taken with Bingo, Bluey, Bandit, and Chilli after the performance. Additionally, Alton Towers Resort will introduce more Bluey-themed rooms at the CBeebies Land Hotel, modeled after the Heeler family’s vibrant home, complete with family portraits on the walls. The rooms accommodate up to five guests, offering a bunkbed area reminiscent of Bluey and Bingo’s bedroom for a delightful sleepover experience, including a bathroom with a Bluey theme for enjoyable bath times.
Families of up to seven members can reserve a Bluey suite featuring a separate children’s sleeping section and a capacious themed playroom for imaginative playdates at the Heeler house. Staying at the CBeebies Land Hotel grants access to various activities and entertainment, such as a kids’ disco in the evening and a full English breakfast buffet in the morning.
Further details regarding the new rollercoaster and its official launch date will be unveiled in due course. For more information about CBeebies Land and ticket reservations, visit the Alton Towers website.
