A prominent online beauty retailer is potentially up for sale as advisors have been enlisted to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the company.
Founded in 1999 by siblings Arron and David Gabbie and headquartered in Manchester, Beauty Bay offers a wide array of products from over 200 brands, including popular names like Ariana Grande, Clinique, and MAC, alongside its own product line.
According to a recent report from Sky News, Beauty Bay is considering various options to secure new funding, with the potential for a complete sale of the business. Interpath, the advisory firm, is reportedly collaborating with Beauty Bay on this endeavor.
Employing a staff of 65 individuals, Beauty Bay has been approached for a statement by Mirror.
In related news, beauty brand Malin + Goetz has entered administration, resulting in the closure of its seven stores across London. This development is anticipated to affect more than 70 job positions.
Online orders from Malin + Goetz have been temporarily halted, with a notice on their website indicating a brief pause in online operations. Nevertheless, customers can still purchase Malin + Goetz products through third-party retailers like Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK.
In a statement to TheIndustry.beauty, a spokesperson for Malin + Goetz expressed that due to a thorough review of the business and after exploring all feasible options, the decision to place their UK operations into administration was made, leading to store closures and job losses.
The website of Malin + Goetz is expected to return after a short maintenance phase, although the exact duration remains uncertain. Established in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, the brand initially offered six products catering to all skin types before expanding into fragrance, body care, and additional beauty categories.
