The British Columbia Conservation Officer Service has reported a recent bear incident in Metro Vancouver, where a woman and her dog were injured. The encounter took place on Monday on the woman’s property in Anmore. The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received medical treatment, while the bear had left the area before officers arrived.
Authorities are actively monitoring the region for bear activity to ensure public safety and will respond promptly as needed. This incident follows a similar one earlier this month in Metro Vancouver, where a three-year-old girl was attacked by a black bear on the deck of her home in Maple Ridge. In that case, a parent intervened to scare off the bear, and the child was airlifted to B.C. Children’s Hospital with minor injuries. The bear was later euthanized by RCMP officers.
These incidents highlight the importance of vigilance in bear-prone areas and the need for swift action to prevent further harm to residents and wildlife.
