Andy Murray Displays Impressive Golf Skills at Pro-Am

Andy Murray, a two-time Wimbledon champion, showcased his impressive golf skills at the recent Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Pro-Am, where he displayed a handicap of two. Despite his golf prowess, Murray remains slightly behind Gareth Bale in terms of handicap. Following his retirement from tennis, Murray has been actively participating in various Pro-Am tournaments, including the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

During the championship, Murray played at renowned courses such as Carnoustie, Kingsbarns, and St Andrews, where he teamed up with professional golfer Eddie Pepperell. His performance at Carnoustie was particularly notable, as he ended the opening round with a birdie on the final hole and even out-drove Ryder Cup hero Tyrrell on some fairways.

Having a keen interest in golf, Murray expressed his aspirations to compete in prestigious tournaments like The Open. He shared his excitement about potentially appearing at The Open in the coming years, emphasizing his dedication to improving his golf skills. Murray also reflected on his memorable experiences at St Andrews’ Old Course, where he eagled the 18th hole earlier in the year.

Despite acknowledging the high level of competition in professional golf, Murray remains determined to test his skills in regional qualifying events for The Open. He aims to reach a competitive level in golf within the next few years, hoping to avoid any embarrassment on the course. Murray’s dedication to golf is evident, and he looks forward to challenging himself in the sport in the future.
