Free agent forward Chris Kreider has finalized a one-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens, as confirmed by the team over the weekend. Specific financial terms of the deal were not disclosed in the announcement.
Kreider’s previous agreement with the Anaheim Ducks was terminated by mutual consent on Wednesday, paving the way for his move to Montreal. The forward had a brief stint with the Ducks, joining them from the New York Rangers in June 2025.
Throughout his career spanning 958 games with the Rangers and Ducks, Kreider has amassed a total of 348 goals and 284 assists. Last season, the 35-year-old veteran recorded 22 goals and 28 assists while playing for Anaheim.
