“Wedding Tragedy: Gas Explosion Kills 8, Newlyweds Included”

A tragic incident unfolded at a wedding celebration in Pakistan as a gas cylinder explosion resulted in the loss of at least eight lives, including the newlywed couple. The reception was being held at a residence in Islamabad, the capital, causing a section of the building to collapse and leaving seven others injured.

The explosion took place in a residential area in the city center, prompting authorities to initiate an investigation into the incident. Deputy Commissioner General Sahibzada Yousaf confirmed the completion of the rescue operation, ensuring no individuals were trapped under the debris. Sniffer dogs were utilized to locate and recover all victims.

Yousaf stated that three houses were completely destroyed, while a fourth sustained partial damage. Additionally, neighboring structures were inspected to mitigate any potential risks. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed sorrow over the tragic event, extending sympathies to the affected families. He instructed health officials to provide top-notch care to the injured and called for a thorough inquiry. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also offered his condolences to the bereaved families.

Many households in Pakistan rely on liquefied petroleum gas cylinders due to inadequate natural gas pressure, leading to incidents like this caused by gas leaks. Authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the explosion.
