Russian Missiles Strike Kyiv, Causing Deaths & Chaos

Russian ballistic missiles struck Kyiv early Thursday, causing casualties and extensive damage, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko. At least three people were killed, and 20 others were injured. The attack resulted in fires and power outages in parts of the Ukrainian capital.

The missiles hit various locations, including a nine-storey residential building, leading to people being trapped. Witnesses reported hearing multiple explosions, with additional casualties reported in the surrounding region. The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has escalated since Russia’s invasion in February 2022, with daily exchanges of attacks.

Despite diplomatic efforts involving the United States and Europe, a lasting ceasefire has not been achieved. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had presented peace proposals to U.S. negotiators, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, but no progress has been made. Russia expressed readiness to arrange new meetings with U.S. negotiators, emphasizing the need for immediate action.

In a significant development, Ukraine conducted a massive drone strike on Russian targets, including Moscow, showcasing its ability to retaliate with long-range strikes. The conflict continues to intensify, with both sides engaging in military actions.
