Queen Elizabeth’s Biography Reveals Trump as “Very Rude”

Queen Elizabeth reportedly described Donald Trump as “very rude” in a 2024 biography detailing her interactions with global leaders and her personal opinions of them. The book, A Voyage Around the Queen by author Craig Brown, disclosed that the Queen made this remark during a private lunch shortly after one of Trump’s visits to the UK.

According to Brown, the Queen also disapproved of Trump’s behavior, noting his tendency to constantly look past her as if seeking someone more interesting. The biography further mentioned the Queen’s speculation about the nature of Trump’s marriage, suggesting there might be an arrangement between him and his wife, Melania.

Comparing Trump to other controversial leaders she had met during her reign, the Queen’s encounters with him were noted for certain awkward moments. For instance, during Trump’s first visit in 2018, he caused a delay and walked ahead of the Queen at times, leading to criticism of his etiquette.

Despite some tensions, Trump later claimed that his interactions with the Queen were positive, stating that she had a great time during their meetings. Subsequent meetings between the two, including a formal state visit, were generally well-received by the public, although there were occasional breaches of protocol, like Trump placing his hand on the Queen’s back during a toast.

Buckingham Palace did not comment on the specific claims made in Brown’s book, but previously described Trump as a polite and charming guest. Following the Queen’s passing, Trump expressed his deep condolences and admiration for her.

With King Charles now leading, relations between Trump and the Royal Family seem to have remained friendly. During a state visit in September 2025, King Charles praised Trump’s efforts in addressing global conflicts, while Trump emphasized the special bond between the US and UK.
