“Pub Patrons Stop Gunman in Dublin”

A pub in West Dublin was targeted by a masked gunman last night, but quick-thinking patrons intervened to prevent any gunfire. The incident at The 79 Inn in Ballyfermot prompted a rapid response from Gardai after a man entered the establishment brandishing a firearm. Witnesses stated that customers thwarted the gunman’s attempt to shoot by throwing a bar stool at him.

The intended victim managed to escape unharmed as the courageous patrons confronted the assailant, who was reportedly wearing a balaclava. The gunman fled the scene as law enforcement officers hurried to the location. Authorities are investigating the incident, which is believed to have stemmed from a verbal altercation earlier in the evening at the licensed premises in Dublin 10 on January 10, 2026.

Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries, and inquiries are ongoing, according to a statement from a Garda spokesperson.
