“Porter Airlines to Launch New Routes from London Airport”

The London International Airport will welcome a new airline this autumn. Porter Airlines, headquartered in Toronto, will commence operations from the airport in November, marking its debut in the region. The airline plans to initiate service with four direct flights to warm destinations in the late fall and early winter, with a commitment to expand its domestic network from London by the summer of 2027.

The new flight routes and their commencement dates are as follows:
– London to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, four times weekly, starting on November 18.
– London to Orlando, Florida, three times weekly, starting on November 19.
– London to Cancun, Mexico, four times weekly, starting on December 17.
– London to Montego Bay, Jamaica, two times weekly, starting on December 18.

Scott McFadzean, the president and CEO of London International Airport, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are proud to welcome Porter Airlines to YXU and to celebrate an airline that will reshape connectivity for our region.” He highlighted the historical lack of air service in the area, underscoring the significance of this development for residents and businesses.

Porter Airlines disclosed that the winter routes will be serviced by new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, designed without middle seats. Bookings for the new routes are now open. While specifics about the upcoming domestic flights from London remain undisclosed, the airline affirmed its intention to link various locations across Canada with the largest city in Southwestern Ontario.

London Mayor Josh Morgan hailed Porter’s commitment to establishing routes to other parts of Canada as a significant victory for the city’s transportation network. He emphasized the strategic importance of the airport as a regional hub, with the potential to serve a sizable population within a short driving distance. Morgan underscored the economic prospects associated with the airport’s growth, aligning with London’s developmental aspirations.
