Freeview users are advised to promptly review their settings and retune their devices following the recent update rollout. The UK TV platform has introduced changes to the channel lineup and TV guide. According to Freeview, certain broadcasters are implementing adjustments this week, necessitating a retune to ensure channels and the TV guide remain current.
The update includes four notable changes. Firstly, three channels have been rebranded with new names, enhancing the browsing experience on the TV guide. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) is now That’s 20th Century, showcasing music from past eras and beloved shows like Yes, Minister and The Saint.
Further changes involve That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) transforming into That’s 20th Century MCR, while That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) is now known as That’s Classics.
In addition to the rebrands, a new channel, That’s Entertainment, will debut on Channel 75. Although program details are limited at present, more information is expected soon.
Freeview emphasizes that such updates are part of the continuous evolution in broadcasting, ensuring diverse and current content offerings for viewers.
Freeview users are encouraged to monitor these changes in the TV planner. If updates are not visible, a retune may be necessary. To retune your device, follow these steps:
– Press the menu button on your remote
– Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar section
– Enter your PIN if prompted (commonly 1234 or 0000)
– Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune”
– Confirm the deletion of existing channels
– Allow your device to automatically search for and store updated channels
While Freeview updates occur regularly, this recent update is significant, underscoring the importance of retuning promptly.
