“Fatal Collision on Alaska Highway Leads to Arrest”

A male individual has been accused of dangerous driving resulting in a fatality following a tragic collision on the Alaska Highway in Whitehorse last week. Identified as Nicolas Tselios, court records indicate he does not have a permanent residence. Tselios, aged 32, appeared in Yukon Territorial Court for the first time on Sunday and is currently held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

Law enforcement from the Yukon RCMP responded to a report of a head-on crash involving two SUVs on the Alaska Highway near the Crestview subdivision and Cousins airstrip around 3 p.m. on Aug. 18. Tragically, one of the vehicle operators was declared deceased at the crash site, while the other was transported for medical care.

The deceased victim has been named as Dorothy John in official court documents. In addition to the charge of dangerous driving causing death, Tselios is also accused of careless driving and operating a vehicle without a required alcohol interlock device under the territorial Motor Vehicles Act. Tselios has not yet entered any pleas, and his next court appearance is set for Thursday.
