“Darth Vader’s Lightsaber Up for Grabs at $1M”

In July, a lightsaber featuring Luke Skywalker’s severed hand from the movie “The Empire Strikes Back” was sold at an auction for a record-breaking $3.75 million. This marked the highest amount ever paid for a prop used in any “Star Wars” film, as confirmed by the auction house.

Now, enthusiasts have the opportunity to acquire the lightsaber used by Darth Vader in the iconic duel at Cloud City, where the famous line “I am your father” was uttered to Skywalker. This Darth Vader lightsaber, also seen in “Return of the Jedi,” is anticipated to command a price of at least $1 million in the upcoming Ultimate Star Wars Auction by Heritage Auctions on November 12.

The Vader lightsaber is just one of over two dozen lightsaber props that will be available for bidding at the auction, showcasing items from “Star Wars” Episodes I to IX, along with props from other productions within the galaxy created by George Lucas.

Among the items up for grabs are the lightsabers wielded by Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker in “Revenge of the Sith,” each expected to sell for a minimum of $10,000.

Additionally, an EE-3 carbine blaster used by Boba Fett in “The Empire Strikes Back” is estimated to fetch over $100,000. The auction will also feature a Yoda puppet hand used by Frank Oz in the original appearance of the character, Anthony Daniels’ signed third-draft screenplay for the 1977 “Star Wars,” and a TIE Fighter pilot helmet from “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”
