A leader of a Mexican cartel has made a plea to Donald Trump, urging him to address the widespread corruption in Mexico. Cesar Alejandro Sepulveda Arellano, also known as ‘El Botox’ and recognized as the head of Los Blancos de Troya, a faction of the Los Viagras cartel, conveyed his message to Trump through a video circulated on social networking platforms.
Arellano, wanted by both Mexican and US authorities, appealed to the US President to tackle the pervasive corruption and violence in Mexico. He requested Trump to halt the deportation of Mexican migrants and instead incorporate them into the American workforce.
In the video, reportedly filmed from a hidden location, Arellano directly addressed Trump, emphasizing the need for intervention in Mexico due to what he described as a corrupt government that engages in bribery. He recounted instances where Mexican forces demanded money from him to operate freely, alleging that he was extorted on two occasions.
Furthermore, Arellano accused the authorities of turning a blind eye to the presence of drugs in Morelia prison, situated in Michoacan, where his cartel groups are predominantly situated. He questioned the government’s integrity and accountability, particularly directing his challenge to Carlos Torres Piña, the state’s government secretary.
Expressing his concerns about the Mexican government’s alleged involvement in perpetuating conflicts and hindering the country’s progress, Arellano called for scrutiny by the US government and the United Nations. He emphasized the need for impartial investigations into what he labeled as the biggest mafia in Mexico.
In a separate video, Arellano distanced himself from certain violent crimes and sought the release of his detained wife and daughter following the murder of Bernardo Bravo Manriquez, a prominent agricultural figure who had spoken out against extortion by criminal organizations.
The Attorney General’s Office of Michoacan has implicated Arellano in the killing, leading to the issuance of multiple arrest warrants by both state and federal authorities. A reward has been offered for information leading to his apprehension.
Los Blancos de Troya, the group associated with Arellano, has been connected to various criminal activities including extortion, kidnapping, homicide, and territorial dominance in critical agricultural regions, particularly within the citrus industry.
Despite Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum’s extradition of numerous cartel leaders to the US and collaboration on border security, she remains firm in rejecting foreign military involvement. Trump’s recent remarks hint at potential military actions against drug cartels, following US operations in the Pacific and Caribbean regions.
Sheinbaum publicly stated that any deployment of US troops to Mexico was not under consideration, in response to Trump’s offer to assist in dismantling cartels.
