Canadian Pacific Kansas City has declared the conclusion of a lengthy strike involving approximately 300 unionized signal workers. In a recent announcement, CPKC disclosed that an agreement had been reached with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers to cease the strike and proceed to binding arbitration. The existing contract between the railway company and its unionized workforce expired in May, leading to a period of federally mandated conciliation and mediation that failed to produce a resolution. The IBEW highlighted that its members are responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of railway signaling and communication systems throughout the CPKC network spanning from Vancouver to Montreal. Consequently, employees are scheduled to resume their duties on Monday morning.
