A new arrest has been made in relation to a shooting incident in Etobicoke in 2022 that resulted in the deaths of two men and left a woman injured.
The individual, hailing from Mississauga, was apprehended by Windsor police over the weekend, as per a news release from Toronto police on Tuesday. He faces two charges of second-degree murder in the killings of Minyali Wur, 24, and Chudier Reat, 20, both residents of Mississauga, on Jan. 3, 2022. Additionally, he is accused of one count of attempted murder and was scheduled to appear in a Toronto court on Tuesday.
The shooting occurred in the vicinity of Lake Shore Boulevard W. and Thirtieth Street, where law enforcement responded to a call around 8:45 p.m. Two men were found shot, and a woman was also injured nearby. While the men succumbed to their injuries at the hospital, the woman’s injuries were deemed non-life-threatening.
It has been disclosed by authorities that the two other suspects are also from Peel Region. The first suspect, a Brampton resident, turned himself in on July 1, 2022, facing a charge of accessory after the fact to murder. The second suspect, from Peel Region, was apprehended on Jan. 8, 2025, with the collaboration of Windsor police and Toronto police’s emergency task force. He has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder, possession of a loaded restricted firearm, and possession of a firearm contrary to order.
