“Trump Met with Cheers and Boos at CFP Game”

US President Donald Trump received a mixed reaction of cheers and boos as he arrived at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium to attend the 2026 College Football Playoff (CFP) national championship game. Trump, accompanied by Florida’s Secretary of State and former senator, Marco Rubio, is there to watch the Miami Hurricanes take on the Indiana Hoosiers on January 19.

During the playing of the national anthem and Trump’s appearance on the stadium’s big screen, the crowd responded with a blend of applause and boos. This marks Trump’s third CFP national championship game attendance on Martin Luther King Day, following his presence at the 2018 Alabama Georgia match and the 2020 Clemson LSU game.

While spectators focus on the game, the world’s attention is also on Trump, who is facing criticism from European leaders due to his actions related to Greenland. Just recently, at an NBA game in London, a spectator protested against Trump’s Greenland policies, prompting applause from the audience following the national anthem.

These incidents highlight the ongoing tensions surrounding Trump’s endeavors to acquire Greenland, adding a layer of complexity to his presence at the college football championship game in Miami.
