A tragic incident occurred in Colombia as a plane carrying singer Yeison Jimenez and his music group crashed, resulting in six fatalities. The aircraft went down shortly after departing from Paipa Airport in Colombia’s Tundama Province, failing to gain altitude. Shocking videos captured witnesses shouting warnings as the plane ran out of runway and crashed in flames.
The victims included the pilot, co-pilot, and four passengers, including 34-year-old Jimenez, known for his performances worldwide. Jimenez had shared a poignant message on Instagram before the flight, emphasizing humility in the face of life’s uncertainties. Additionally, his photographer, Weisman Mora, who posted a video of them onboard just prior to take-off, was also among the casualties.
The plane was en route to Medellin, where Jimenez was scheduled to perform, but tragically crashed near Marinilla. Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the deaths of all six occupants, expressing condolences for the loss of the renowned artist. Jimenez, a talented singer-songwriter with a lifelong passion for music, had previously shared his premonitions of an air accident in a podcast interview.
Other victims of the crash were identified as pilot Hernando Torres, Juan Manuel Rodriguez, Oscar Marin, and Jefferson Osorio. The aircraft reportedly belonged to Jimenez’s company, YJ Company SAS. Heartbreaking reactions poured in on social media, with Jimenez’s daughter expressing her grief and fans paying tribute to the beloved artist’s legacy.
