“Woman Poisoned by Husband with Lead-Laced Vitamins”

A 25-year-old woman, Hannah Pettey, was rushed to the hospital after experiencing severe health issues, only to be informed by doctors that she had a limited time left to live. Hannah had been unwell for six months, confined to her bed for most of the week leading up to her hospital visit. Concerned about her worsening condition, Hannah contacted her mother, Nicole, who promptly took her to seek medical attention.

Initially, medical staff did not detect any abnormalities, but Hannah insisted that her situation was critical, emphasizing that she would not survive if sent home. Subsequently, Hannah suffered a seizure on January 18, 2022, and remained unconscious for two days. Doctors placed her in an induced coma and conducted essential tests to diagnose her condition.

Nicole recounted the shocking revelation from doctors, stating that Hannah was in a critical state, severely malnourished, and given only hours to live due to an excessive amount of lead in her body. Following a lengthy wait, medical professionals informed Hannah, a resident of Alabama, that she had a dangerously high level of lead within her system.

Further investigations revealed that it was improbable for Hannah to have ingested such a significant amount of lead unintentionally. The authorities launched an inquiry, focusing on Hannah’s husband, Brian Mann, and Nicole, suspecting foul play. Subsequently, it was uncovered that Mann had been poisoning his wife deliberately, deceiving her into consuming manipulated vitamins.

Hannah, recalling moments of intense pain and nausea, described instances where Mann pressured her to take the tampered vitamins unknowingly. After her recovery, Hannah initially hesitated about pursuing a divorce but eventually proceeded with it following discussions with law enforcement.

Additionally, Hannah assisted the police in exposing Mann’s deceitful actions, including discovering that he had acquired multiple life insurance policies on her even before their marriage, with additional policies taken out while she was hospitalized. Mann was eventually convicted of attempted murder and sentenced to life imprisonment in August 2025, although he maintains his innocence, shifting blame to Nicole for allegedly poisoning Hannah, a claim both women have denied.
