A pub in West Dublin was targeted by a masked gunman last night, but quick-thinking patrons intervened to prevent any gunfire. The incident at The 79 Inn in Ballyfermot prompted a rapid response from Gardai after a man entered the establishment brandishing a firearm. Witnesses stated that customers thwarted the gunman’s attempt to shoot by throwing a bar stool at him.
The intended victim managed to escape unharmed as the courageous patrons confronted the assailant, who was reportedly wearing a balaclava. The gunman fled the scene as law enforcement officers hurried to the location.
