“Intruder Attacks Sikh Temple in Edmonton”

The World Sikh Organization of Canada reported a “violent incident” occurring at the Nanaksar Gurdwara temple in northeast Edmonton on Friday morning, resulting in injuries to two individuals. According to the organization, an intruder entered the Gurdwara early in the morning and assaulted people inside. Two individuals were subsequently hospitalized due to their injuries. Additionally, there are indications that the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, a Sikh scripture, was also targeted during the episode.

Law enforcement is presently present at the scene, and the Gurdwara has been shut down to the public as investigations proceed. Edmonton police have not disclosed any specifics regarding the incident, but CBC News correspondents have arrived at the location where police officers are visible.
