Alaska Highway Reopens After Two-Vehicle Crash

Whitehorse RCMP have now allowed one lane of traffic to resume on the Alaska Highway after a two-vehicle crash forced a temporary closure that lasted over an hour on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred south of the Cousins airstrip, close to the junction with the North Klondike Highway, prompting updates from both the police and territorial highways department online around 3 p.m.

According to Calista MacLeod from the RCMP communications team, emergency medical services, the fire department, and law enforcement personnel are all on the scene addressing the situation. Yukon 511 has confirmed that the road is open with one lane available for traffic flow, with vehicles taking turns to navigate through the area.

At this time, no further information has been disclosed by the authorities regarding the specifics of the highway collision.
