Police in Georgia are currently searching for a man who is suspected of leaving a deceased woman at a hospital before fleeing the scene. The individual in question, identified as Michael Lee Harrelson, 47, arrived at Doctors Hospital in Augusta late on Monday night seeking help, but nurses discovered that the woman in his car was already deceased. According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, a nurse found the woman unresponsive and not breathing in Harrelson’s vehicle. Shortly after the discovery, as hospital staff rushed to assist, Harrelson reportedly drove away. Authorities have turned to social media to ask for the public’s help in identifying and locating Harrelson.
The deceased woman has been identified as Selena Johnson, 41, from Hephzibah, located approximately 16 miles from Augusta. Her identity was confirmed through fingerprint analysis.
