Barbara, 38, succumbed to her injuries after the stray dog turned aggressive towards her while she tried to separate it from her own smaller dog. Despite the fatal outcome, Barbara’s pet survived the ordeal, and the stray dog was euthanized by an animal control team.
Sheriff Jimmy Thornton of Sampson County recounted how deputies found Ms. Brewington outside her residence with severe injuries, ultimately leading to her passing as first responders attempted to assist her.
